Our Plumpton Estate Brut Rosé combines Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay to create a beautifully elegant English sparkling wine.

Fresh, vibrant and full of character, it's an award-winning rosé that's ideal for marking special occasions or simply making any moment feel a little more special.

There are notes of white peach and strawberries, with a hint of brioche. It is dry and crisp on the palate, with a fine persistent mousse, leading to a long and elegant finish. It pairs beautifully with chocolate desserts and fresh forest fruits.

Plumpton Estate Brut Rosé NV

Produced from estate-grown grapes, this wine is crafted by Plumpton College’s expert winemakers and viticulturalists, whilst teaching our degree students the skill of oenology. Our alumni now lead innovation and quality across the wine industry, from vineyard
to bottle.

Technique

Plumpton Estate Brut Rosé is a classic blend of Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir & Chardonnay made using the Traditional Method. A portion of the Pinot Noir fruit is de-stemmed and crushed, then fermented on its skins for up to 5 days at 20–25 °C. This is then pressed off and later blended in, to give the wine its pink hue.

The rest of the fruit is hand-picked and whole bunch pressed, then fermented in stainless steel tanks at 12–15°C for around 2 weeks, to retain the delicate fruit character. Over the winter, the winemaker, with the help of our undergraduate and postgraduate wine students, carefully crafts our signature blend. The wine spends at least a year ageing on lees, in the bottle.
