Our Plumpton Estate Classic Cuvée NV Magnum* 2018 is a beautifully balanced English sparkling wine, crafted from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.

A favourite for celebrations, its fresh and elegant style has earned multiple awards and showcases the quality of English sparkling wine at its finest.

We laid down a limited number of Magnums for 76 months of lees ageing in celebration of the spectacular 2018 Vintage.

This extended ageing gifts the wine elegant honeysuckle and lime blossom aromas, followed by flavours of crisp apple and toasted hazelnuts. The biscuity depth and creamy texture ensure this wine is a true classic.

Plumpton Estate Classic Cuvée NV Magnum

Produced from estate-grown grapes, this wine is crafted by Plumpton College’s expert winemakers and viticulturalists, whilst teaching our degree students the skill of oenology. Our alumni now lead innovation and quality across the wine industry, from vineyard to bottle.

Technique

2018 was the ripest and highest-yielding harvest experienced in the UK to that date. The grapes were harvested at optimal ripeness for sparkling wine, with high natural potential alcohol and excellent acidity.

To celebrate our best vineyard vintage to date, we bottled this special wine in magnums. Wines age more slowly in larger formats, while the greater interaction with the lees encourages the development of autolytic characteristics with less impact from oxygen.

The result demonstrates the quality that can be achieved through long lees ageing in magnum. It was awarded Gold at the CSWWC 2025 and selected for the Vineyard & Winery Show Golden 50 Wines 2025.
