Our Plumpton Estate Classic Cuvée NV is a beautifully balanced English sparkling wine, crafted from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.

A favourite for celebrations, its fresh and elegant style has earned multiple awards and showcases the quality of English sparkling wine at its finest.
Tasting Notes

Crisp apple and citrus fruit meet creamy brioche in this gold medal-winning English sparkling wine. It is a harmoniously balanced wine with a long refreshing finish. Perfect as an aperitif or with a wide range of foods, from seafood to poultry.

Produced from estate-grown grapes, this wine is crafted by Plumpton College’s expert winemakers and viticulturalists, whilst teaching our degree students the skill of oenology. Our alumni now lead innovation and quality across the wine industry, from vineyard to bottle.

Technique

Plumpton Estate Brut Classic NV is a classic blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier made using the Traditional Method.

The grapes are hand-picked and whole bunched pressed at the Plumpton winery. The varieties are fermented separately in stainless steel tanks at 12–15°C for two weeks, then set on their lees over the winter. A part of the blend is transferred to old oak barrels for battonage; lees stirring once a week, to round out the wine and add yeast character.

The winemaker then carefully crafts our signature blend, whilst teaching our wine students. The wine spends at least a year ageing on lees in the bottle, before riddling and disgorging.
